Nikula, John Jacob (08 MAY 1878 - 11 MAR 1944)
A heart attack proved fatal to John Jacob Nikula, 65, at his home in the town of Beaver, Saturday noon. He had been in ill health and only that morning had sought medical attention.
He was born in the city of Oulu, Finland, May 8, 1878, and came to America in 1902. His first marriage took place to Mary Tolonen in 1900, and for two years they were residents of Duluth, Minn., later moving to Finland, Minn., where he resided until 1927, when he came to Wisconsin. His first wife died in May, 1918, and to this union were born seven children, two of whom died in infancy. Surviving are three sons and two daughters.
His second marriage took place in July 1927, to Linda Niemi, and he leaves to mourn his wife and five children and 10 grand children.
Funeral services were conducted Monday from the Griebenow Funeral Home (Owen, Wisconsin), Rev. Autio officiating, and burial was made at Finland, Minn., Tuesday.
