Zschernitz, Genevieve Clare (3 February 1919 - 11 June 2008)
Genevieve Clare Zschernitz, 89, of Neillsville died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, under the tender, loving care of the staff at Memorial Medical Health and Rehabilitation Center in Neillsville.
Genevieve was born February 3, 1919, in Neillsville to Harold and Beatrice (LaZotte) Irish. Gen graduated from Neillsville High School in 1938. She was joined in marriage to Louis A. Zschernitz May 28, 1941. In her spare time she enjoyed baking and embroidery and running her ceramic business. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Louis, of 67 years; her sister Elaine Jeske of Dodgeville; children, Larry (Joyce) Zschernitz of Schofield, Tom (Carolyn) Zschernitz, Neillsville, Gary (Margie) Zschernitz, Neillsville, Jayne (John) Perrine, Neillsville, Alan (Karen) Zschernitz, Marshfield, Terry Zschernitz, Neillsville, Joel (Darlene) Zschernitz, Neillsville and Melodie (Gary) Foster, Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Penny (Ron) Parkin, Jerry Zschernitz, Travis (Wendy) Zschernitz, Jennifer (Matt) Roenz, Melissa Zschernitz, Jeff (Karen) Perrine, Joe (Kim) Perrine, Jill Perrine and fiancé Keith Hertel, Luke (Shannon) Zschernitz, Jake Zschernitz and fiancé Candy Bauer, Zachary (Sarah) Zschernitz, Kristine (Adam) Ballesteros, Brady Foster, Adam Foster, Torrie Foster and Caleb Foster; great-grandchildren, Katie and James Perrine, Nicholas, Dominic, Ethan, Taylor and Macy Perrine, Logan and Jaden Zschernitz, Kaya Schulte, Tanner and Derek Zschernitz, Hunter, Mason and Marshall Roenz and Sophie Ballesteros.
A funeral Mass was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2008, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. Father Woodrow Pace officiated. Rosary was held at 9 a.m. with visitation until the time of the service. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Neillsville.
