Haas, Eileen Marie (14 February 1963 - 7 June 2008)
Eileen Marie Haas, age 45, of Thorp, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 7, 2008.
Eileen was born February 14, 1963, the tenth child of Casper and Loretta Haas. She was born and lived her entire life in Thorp. She was a 1982 graduate of Thorp High School.
Eileen spent many years babysitting the children of family and friends. At the time of her death, she was employed at Thorp Equipment. Eileen was a hard worker and served many times at weddings and funerals for St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Parish Council of Catholic Women (PCCW). Eileen was a strong believer in friendship and the lasting bonds friends share no matter how much their lives may change. She had a big, loving, thoughtful heart and was always willing to help people. She enjoyed bowling, country music and loved to polka.
Eileen is survived by her father, Casper Haas; her siblings: Deb (Gordan) Christians of Hayward, Ken (Beth) of Chetek, Daniel of Thorp, Beverly of Sun Prairie, Phyllis of Thorp, Mike (Char) of Thorp, Brian (Jenny) of Thorp, Lois of Thorp, Nancy of Eau Claire, Ralph (Ria) of Menomonie, Robert of Oostburg, Doris (Wade) Zachow of Eau Claire, Casper (Melissa) of Eau Claire; numerous nieces and nephews, and many, many friends. She is survived also by her very special friends: Diane, Jamie and Devon Gurklis.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Loretta on March 17, 2007, and an infant brother, Roger.
Visitation was held Tuesday, June 10 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church with Father Keith Apfelbeck officiating.
Pallbearers were her brothers Ken, Daniel, Mike, Brian, Robert, and Casper. Scripture readers were her nieces Mindy Haas, Brianne Bergman, Rebecca Haas and Maddie Haas. Gift bearers were Jason, Kayla, Brent and Ashley Lato, Amanda Haas and Diane Gurklis.
Burial was in St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Thorp.
