Smith, Charlotte #2 (1879? - 11 AUG 1902)
Mrs. Charlotte Huff Smith, wife of City Clerk George J. Smith, died Monday evening, Aug. 11th, 1902, death resulting from hemorrhage. Her age was 23 years. She was married to Mr. Smith the 21st of May last, and they had settled down to housekeeping in the T.V. Carleton house.
Decedent was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Huff of Clintonville, Wis., and the parents and a sister from Chicago, Mrs. C.W. Wright, Mrs. H. E. Hughes of Minneapolis, John Huff and Harry Huff, brothers, Clintonville, were here when she died. The remains were taken to the old home for burial, the party leaving here Tuesday night on the midnight train. A short service was held at the home at 2 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by Rev. A. V. Ingham of the Methodist Church, to which she belonged. She was a skilled musician, having studied music at a Chicago conservatory, and also at a school in Minnesota. The funeral at Clintonville takes place today.
