West, Donald Edward (30 January 1913 - 15 January 1946)

Funeral services for Donald E. West, 32, were held Tuesday, January 22, (1946) at 2 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home. The Rev. F. A. Fahlgren officiated. Burial was made in the Town of Grant Cemetery. He died on January 15, 1946 at Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa., after an illness of four weeks.

He was born in Neillsville January 30, 1913, to William and Emma Pexsa West. He graduated from Neillsville High School, and attended the Eau Claire Teachers’ College.

He enlisted in the army in 1936 and was discharged in 1940. He served in the Philippine Islands.

Following his discharge he served as a hospital attendant at Racine, New York City and in New Jersey. He was married August 31, 1945, in New York City to Catherene Ray of West Baden, Ind.

Mr. West is survived by his wife and parents and a sister, Mrs. Roy (Irene) Charland, of Chippewa Falls.
