Rausch, Daniel S. (9 December 1866 - 25 February 1946)

Funeral services for Daniel S. Rausch, 79, were conducted from the First Presbyterian Church in Marshfield Wednesday afternoon, February 27. The Rev. Arthur Oates officiated. Interment was made in the Hillside Cemetery at Marshfield. He died Monday, February 25, (1946) at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Mr. Rausch was born in the Town of Grant December 9, 1866, to John and Katherine Catanach Rausch. He was married at Nasonville March 22, 1899 to Emma Paulson. For several years he was employed by the Conner Company at Granton. In 1901 he went into the Hardware business in partnership with W. W. Page. Later that partnership was dissolved, but he continued in the hardware business with A. J. Knorr. When automobiles made their appearance Mr. Knorr and Mr. Rausch sold their store and went into the garage business. They had agencies at both Granton and Neillsville, the present Ford garage in Neillsville being built by them. In 1920 he retired.

Mr. Rausch was a resident of Granton for the past 49 years and a member of the Neillsville Masonic Lodge for the past 47 years. He was a member of the county board of supervisors for a number of years and also served on the Granton village board.

He is survived by his wife and two sons, Wallace of Stevens Point, and Roderick of Barron.

Pallbearers were; L. J. Bluett, Tab Erickson, Elmer Anderson, W. L. Smith, Paul Frishman and Gus Deutsch.
