Hurlburt, Denis (27 MAY 1825 - 7 MAR 1903)
Denis Hurlburt of York (Clark Co., Wis.) died on Saturday, March 7th, 1903.
Deceased was born at Westport, Essex Co., N.Y., May 27, 1825; was married to Laura McDougal in 1847, by whom he had seven children, of whom there are five living, Mrs. Lottie Seager of Weston, Mrs. J. W. Lynch of Neillsville, Mrs. J. E. Gray of Colby, Mrs. A. Gray of Marshfield, and Geo. Hurlburt of Idaho. His first wife died in 1862. He was married to Isabelle Crossett who survives him. By second marriage were born three children, of whom two are living, Mrs. Henry Poate of Arcadia, and Wm. Hurlburt of York, who lives at their home. His aged wife and children and his step-daughter, Mrs. L. Humiston of York, were at his bedside. Deceased came to Clark County in 1872, moving to his farm in York, where he has since resided.
The funeral was held at the Visgar Church Monday at 1 p.m., conducted by Rev. Guy Campbell, and the remains interred in the Neillsville Cemetery.
