Oberle, Anna (? July 1873 - 12 March 1946)
Mrs. William Oberle died at the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield on March 12. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Fr. Muckerheide March 15. She had reached the age of 72 years, 8 months and 28 days.
Anna Liske was born at New Holstein, Wis., where she grew to womanhood. At the age of 22 she was married to William Oberle. Soon after their marriage they purchased an 80 acre farm in the Town of Worden. They resided on this farm for 29 years. In 1924 they moved to the village. A year ago they celebrated their golden wedding.
Mrs. Oberle was a member of the Christian Mother’s Society for many years.
Surviving are her husband; six sons, Blasuis, Martin, Peter and Fred all of Thorp; August of Loyal; Leo of Gilman; five daughters - Mrs. Fred Schmidt (Mathilda); Mrs. George Meske (Anna) of Thorp; Mrs. Anton Hendrick (Agnes) of Sheboygan; Mrs. Beck Dalsbo (Mary) of Grafton; Mrs. Peter Larson (Gertrude) of Tioga; one sister, Mrs. George Vanderhey (Rose) of Stanley; 35 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was interred in the St. Bernard Cemetery in Thorp. Pallbearers were Anton Baldeschwiler, Louis Henke, Joseph Gentler, William Wilhelm, Arthur Soderberg, Sr., and Frank Meske all of Thorp.
Those from out of town attending the funeral were: Mrs. Anton Hendrick of Sheboygan; Mrs. Beck Dalsbo of Grafton; Mr. and Mrs. August Oberle of Loyal; Mr. Peter Larson, Jr., of Tioga; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Larson of Gilman; Mrs. George Vanderhey of Stanley; Miss Margaret Meske, Marshfield; Miss Mary A. Meske of Marshfield, John H (?); Mr. and Mrs. George Schneider, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kivaly, Mrs. Warren Baker, all of Stanley.
