Petersen, Alfred John (23 September 1861 - 27 April 1946)
Alfred John Petersen, 84, was buried in the Danish Lutheran Cemetery, Denmark, Wis. Wednesday May 1. Services were held in Neillsville Tuesday, April 30, at 1:30 p.m. at the Georgas Funeral Home, with the Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating, and at the Knudtson Funeral Home, Denmark, 1:30 p.m. Wednesday May 1. He died at his home in the Bradbury apartments, Neillsville, Saturday, April 27, (1946).
Mr. Petersen was born in Brown County September 23, 1861, to Lars and Catherine Petersen. He received his education and spent the early part of his life there. On June 2, 1904, at Minneapolis, Minn., he was married to Matilda Jorgensen, who survives. Four children were born to them.
In 1914 they came to Neillsville, where Mr. Petersen operated the Cash Hardware, until 1929. He then worked for the Hobbs Supply Co. In 1931 he was forced to retire, due to ill health.
Mr. Petersen is survived by his wife and three sons - Lawrence, Cody, Wyo.; Austen, Milwaukee; Arne of Neillsville. Six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
His parents, a brother, four sisters and an infant daughter preceded him in death.
