Haeftman, August (27 SEP 1829 - 2 OCT 1903)

August Haeftman (Hoeftman?), aged 74 years, 8 mo., died at 11 a.m. Monday, at the home six miles northwest of the city (Neillsville, Clark Co., Wis.), of kidney trouble, and was buried yesterday, the funeral being held in the district schoolhouse, by Rev. F. Thrun. Deceased leaves two daughters, Mrs. Meihak and Mrs. Luechtenhand (Luchterhand?), and stepsons Carl and William and Fred Dux, who live here. Decedent’s wife died about two months ago. The burial was in the cemetery in west Pine Valley. Mr. Haeftman had lived here some twenty years, and was a good citizen. His kidney ailment was a sudden attack, and followed the drinking of a little beer, which he was not accustomed to. He had always had good health up to this breakdown of the kidneys.
