Hachmann, Martha (30 JUN 1875 - 7 FEB 1947)

The Zschernitz family of Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.) received word last Friday of the death of a sister, Mrs. Martha Zschernitz-Hachmann, 71, of Chicago. She had been ill the past three years of a heart ailment. Mrs. Bertha wildish and Edwin Zschernitz left Saturday for Chicago to attend the funeral services which were held there on Monday.

Martha Zschernitz, the second of a family of 11 children, was born June 30, 1875, in Hamburg, Germany. The parents were Carl and Rosa Zschernitz, who came with their family to America in 1894, settling in Clark county. As a young woman, Martha went to Chicago and has lived there ever since.

Surviving relatives are three daughters and two sons: Gretchen, Martha, Johanna, Hans and Henry, all of whom live in Chicago; three brothers and a sister: Carl Zschernitz, Edwin Zschernitz and Mrs. Bertha Wildish of Neillsville, and Robert Zschernitz of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. There are three granddaughters. Her parents, her husband and six brothers and sisters are deceased.
