Schneider, Sarah Ann (Marriage - 31 Dec. 1955)
Sarah Ann Schneider of Wausau, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schneider of Colby, and Willis James Wisneski of Wausau, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Wisneski of Wausau, were united in marriage Saturday, at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby, Wis. The nuptial high mass and the single-ring wedding ceremony were conducted by Rev. Vincent Schwartz. The children’s choir of St. Mary’s church sang the mass and an arrangement of Christmas hymns. Altar decorations for the wedding were poinsettias to carry out the holiday theme chosen for the occasion.
Mrs. Kenneth Pasholk of Wausau served as matron of honor and Grover Zastrow of Wausau, a friend of the groom, was best man. Ushers were Walter Schneider, Jr., of Edgar, the bride’s brother, and Joseph Klosinski of Wausau, the groom’s uncle.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride appeared in a street-length dress of winter white brocaded faille with matching gloves and a hat of tiny winter white flowers stitched to a double head band. A corsage of red roses accented the round neckline and sleeveless detail of the dress, which featured a full skirt. She carried a white rosary.
A dress of an identical design, but fashioned of ice blue material was worn by Miss Pasholk. Her gloves and hat matched her gown, and her flowers were white baby mums.
Navy blue dresses were worn by the mothers of the bridal pair, and red carnations formed their corsages. The grandmothers of the bridegroom also wore dark dresses, with white carnations in their corsages.
Mrs. Walter Schneider, Jr., the bride’s sister-in-law, cut the wedding cake at the reception at the Colby city hall. A wedding breakfast and dinner also followed the wedding.
The new home for the couple will be at 1018 17th Ave. S. in Wausau where both are employed. The bride is employed by the Employers Mutual Insurance Company and the groom is employed by Hoffers Paint and Glass Company. He is a graduate of Wausau High School and his bride is a graduate of Colby High School.
Friends and relatives from Marshfield, Wausau, Edgar and Colby attended the wedding.
