Hawley, Milton (19 FEB 1901 - 21 APR 1947)
Funeral services for Milton Hawley, town of York (Clark Co., Wis.) farmer who died Tuesday morning, are planned for 2 p.m. Friday from the Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton. The Rev. Lee Holmes, pastor of the York Center Methodist Church, will be in charge, and burial will be made in Windfall Cemetery.
Mr. Hawley recently underwent surgery in Eau Claire, and was returned to the hospital Monday. Death was due to a blood clot.
Born Feb. 19, 1901, in Greenwood (Clark Co.), Mr. Hawley was a lifelong resident of Clark County. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Hawley, and his mother survives. He attended the Mound School, north of Christie.
On June 6, 1923, he was united in marriage to Ella Knoll, and the couple moved onto the farm of his mother, near Loyal, which they operated for 17 years. Seven years ago they moved onto their present farm north of Granton.
Surviving are the widow and a son, Wilbur, a student at Granton High School. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Cyril (Marjorie) Neverman of Joliet, Ill., and Mrs. Ernest (Irene) Hannah of Mineral Point; and a brother, Gale Hawley, who resides in Loyal. His father died about 12 years ago.
