Worchel, Alma (6 August 1894 - 20 November 1946)

Funeral services for Mrs. Arnold Worchel, 52, of Neillsville route 4, were held Friday at 1:30 at the Georgas Funeral Home and at 2:15 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Granton. The Rev. Wm. A Lauterbach, pastor of the Church, officiated. Burial took place in the Town of Grant Cemetery. Mrs. Worchel died November 20, (1946) at the Neillsville Hospital.

The deceased was born Alma Reindel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Reindel of Neillsville, on August 6, 1894. On June 14, 1916, she was married at Neillsville to Arnold Worchel, who, with three children, survives. The children are: Marvin of Green Bay, Russell of Milwaukee, and Bonnie Rae, at home. Also surviving are her parents and the following sisters and brothers: Leah, Mrs. John Baker, Milwaukee; Helene, Mrs. Jake Moeller, Neillsville; William, Clarence and Franklin Reindel, all of Neillsville.

Mrs. Worchel received her early education in the rural schools and lived at home with her parents until the time of her marriage, when she and her husband went to live on the Worchel home farm in the Town of Grant. Six years ago they bought a farm in the Town of York, and have made that their home since.

Pallbearers were: George Mortimer, Ray Mortimer, Ed Voight, Ervin Thur, Ernest Thur and Herb free.

Flower ladies were: Mrs. Ervin Thur, Mrs. Ernest Thur and Mrs. Harold Mortimer.

Helene Hillert, Virginia Nickel, Irene Naedler and Marion Winter sang two numbers, "Asleep in Jesus" and "I’m But a Stranger Here." Richard Hillert, Jr., was the accompanist.

Those from out-of-town who were here for the services were Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Worchel, Green Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Russell Worchel, Mrs. John Baker and daughter, Joan, Mrs. Agnes Falkenstein, Miss Cleo Jane Reindel and Mrs. John Goebel, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hillert, Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Miller, Mendota.
