Young, Robert #2 (18 DEC 1924 - 4 JUL 2008)

Robert Young, 83, died on Friday, July 4, 2008, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Monday, July 7, at Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal. The Rev. Daniel Zimmerman officiated. Burial was in the Loyal Cemetery. Pall bearers were Ed Bauer, Jon Bauer, Jim Young, Tim Froeba, George Stumpner and Shane Giacomino.

Robert Young was born on Dec. 18, 1924, in Wisconsin Rapids, to Paul and Hazel (nee Shupe) Young. He was raised in the Loyal area, attended Sunnyside School, and graduated from Loyal High School in 1943. He married Ruth Haslow on Sept. 20, 1944, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. They farmed in the town of Loyal for 30 years, and then moved into Loyal in 1977. He worked for Smith Feed Service until his retirement in 1998. He enjoyed playing cards and bowling.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 63 years, Ruth of Loyal; two children, JoAnn (Hap) Weyer, Loyal, and Bob (Julie) Young, Madison, three grandchildren, Dennis Weyer, Loyal, Duane (Diane) Weyer, Mosinee, and Todd (Christy) Weyer, Cross Plains; step-grandson, Nick Zahn; two great-grandchildren, Samantha and Brandon; one sister-in-law, Jeannine Young, Loyal; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and one brother, Dale, on Aug. 14, 2000.
