VanKirk, Viola (21 JUN 1947)
At a service performed by the Rev. N. J. Dechant on June 21, 1947, Miss Viola VanKirk, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert VanKirk, Humbird (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Louis Hause, Neillsville, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Hause, Phillips. The 2 p.m. ceremony was performed at the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church at Neillsville, and was a double ring.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in the traditional long white wedding gown with a finger tip veil. Her flowers were roses and carnations, mixed with lilies of the valley.
Miss Virginia VanKirk and Miss Dolores Hause, sisters of the bride and groom, respectively, attended the bride. The groom’s attendants were Warren VanKirk, the bride’s brother, and Louis Seelow.
Mrs. Ray Arndt, organist, provided music. About 65 guests attended a reception at the home of the bride’s parents. The house was decorated in pink and blue.
Guests from away who were here for the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Archie VanKirk, Sparta; Mr. and Mrs. Vernon VanKirk, Pewaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Melcher, LaCrosse; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Anderson, Miles, Mich.; all uncles and aunts of the couple, and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Schmidt, Spencer, friends.
