Before an altar decked with beautiful garden flowers and palms, Miss Clara Drake, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Drake of Loyal, became the bride of Albert Oestreich at a 8 o’clock ceremony held at the Marshfield Gospel Tabernacle.
The single ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Leo Chapman of Spokeville. Miss Amy Cook played the wedding march and Mrs.. Morris Anderson sang "Because."
The bride was dressed in white, rayon marquisette over satin, buttoning to the waist in back with lace insets and long puffed sleeves.
Her long veil, trimmed with chantilly lace, was held in place with crown flowers. She carried a bouquet of baby’s breath, baby asters and roses. The bride wore a pearl necklace.
Her only attendant was her youngest sister, Miss Trevalyn Drake. She was dresses in a floor length gown of yellow marquisette over satin, with a matching shoulder length veil. She also carried a bouquet of baby’s breath, baby asters and roses.
The groom’s only attendant was Jerry Southhard. Both men wore dark suits and boutonnieres of white asters.
A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents in the evening. Supper was served to 65 friends and relatives. The home was decorated with white bells and streamers of peach, white and yellow. A three-tiered wedding cake, topped with a miniature bride and groom, adorned the bridal table.
Those present at the reception were Mr. and Mrs. Morris Anderson and daughter Mrs. Lena Southard and son Jerry, Miss Amy Cook, Mr. and Mrs. Helmuth Schultz and son and Mr. and Mrs. William Rohloff and son all of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schlinsog and son of Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Oestreich and family, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Oestreich, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Oestreich and daughter, Bernard Oestreich, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Oestreich and son, Mr. and Mrs. Christian Oestreich and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Ploman and family, Mr. and Mrs. George Drake, Miss Jewell Miller, the Rev. and Mrs. Leo Chapman and son, Mr. and Mrs. Christian Olsen and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Sigward Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Verland Millard.
