Heppner, Marcia (19 Jan. 1931 - 9 Feb. 1956)

Mrs. Robert Heppner, Jr., died suddenly this Thursday morning at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital. Funeral services have been tentatively set for Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Zion Lutheran church, Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating.

Marcia Schmidt was born in the town of Colby on January 19, 1931, and is a graduate of Colby High School. She married Robert Heppner on May 14, 1949. They were divorced two years ago.

Surviving are one daughter, Deborah, age four; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gerhardt Schmidt of the town of Colby; two brothers, Dale, stationed in Oklahoma with the U.S. army and Dennis at home; her grand mother, Mrs. Emma Staffeil; and her divorced husband.

Mrs. Heppner had been employed at the Colby State Bank.

Funeral services for Mrs. Robert Heppner, Jr., whose death was chronicled last week, were held Sunday afternoon at Zion Lutheran church, Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Corwin Dallman, Russ Meyer, Milbert Singstock, Milford Frome, Edward Strathman and Roy Nagel. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Roy Nagel, Mrs. Harold Goelden, Eveline Wiersig, Jean Laack, Shirley Bowen and Jean Karsten.

Mrs. Heppner had been ailing for some time but death came suddenly and unexpectedly. She was well known in Colby and vicinity for her fine Christian qualities and willingness to perform her duties to the best of her ability.

Out-of-town people here for the funeral were Robert Heppner, Jr., of Wilmington, Del., Ernest Schmidt and Mr. and Mrs. Otis Setser of Marengo, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Schmidt of Garden Prairie, Ill., Arnold Schmidt, Mr. and Mrs. Walter DeMert and son, Darwin, of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Wachholtz, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence DeMert, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar DeMert, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Zielow, Mr. and Mrs. Gust DeMert of Neillsville, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Bulgrin of Merrill, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Schwantes, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Krueger, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Ketterl and Carole Lou of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schauer of Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Koffarnus, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kremsreuter and Robert Ebert of Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Art Lau of Stratford, Robert Hamilton and son of Round Lake, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Dins of Edgar, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Johnson of Greenwood.
