FORENSIC CONTEST HELD AT HIGH SCHOOL HERE

-Students From Five Towns Compete in District Contest Here-

At the district Forensic Contest held at the high school here Thursday evening, April 12, students from five schools participated. The schools sending contestants were Abbotsford, Medford, Colby, Unity and Dorchester, Wis.

Winners in the competition and the selections they delivered were as follows:

Dramatic Declamations - First, Ione Rusk, "Honey", Abbotsford; second, Elizabeth Hirsch, "Yarb Woman", Medford.

Oratory - First, John Schemmer, "Builders of Destiny," Colby; second, Philip Smith, "Ropes," Abbotsford; third, Gordon Patterson, "The Challenge of Chaos," Medford.

Humorous Declamations - First, Naomi Young, "Brotherly Love," Colby; second, Ruth Smith, "Brotherly Love," Abbotsford, Wis.

Extemporaneous Reading - First, Laura Beyerl, "What All the World Is Seeking," Colby; second, Larry Studinger, "Horace Greeley’s Ride," Medford.

Extemporaneous Reading - First, Pearl Meyer, "The New Deal," Colby; second, William Wilde, "The Army Carries the Mail," Colby, Wis.
