Tews, Edna (Marriage - 4 May 1946)
Miss Edna Tews, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tews, Neillsville R3, and Walter Beyer, son of Mrs. Richard Beyer of Neillsville, were married Saturday, May 4, at 3 p.m. at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, Neillsville. The Rev. Wm. A. Baumann officiated at the double ring ceremony.
The bride wore a gown of white taffeta and net, and carried pink roses for her bouquet. Miss Alice Beyer, sister of the groom, was the maid of honor, and Miss Lorraine Luedke, cousin of the bride, was bridesmaid. The groom’s attendants were Edgar Tews and Robert Beyer. Ushers were Arthur Tews and Harold Beyer.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents for 115 guests.
Both the bride and groom are graduates of the Neillsville High School, and have been employed as deputy clerks in the county clerk’s office. Previously the groom served in the army for three years. After a week’s wedding trip, they will return to Neillsville, where Mr. Beyer will continue in his present employment.
Guests from Chicago, Milwaukee, Fond du Lac, Neshkoro, Oshkosh, La Crosse, Appleton, Fairchild, Marshfield, Racine, Berlin, Ripon and Pewaukee attended the wedding.
