Bush, Delores June (Marriage - 17 January 1948)

Miss Delores June Bush became the bride of Arnold James Opelt in a ceremony performed at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon, January 17, (1948) at Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church, The Rev. N. J. Dechant, read the single ring service in the presence of the immediate families of the bride and groom.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Bush, 307 South Hewett Street, Neillsville. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Opelt of route 1, Neillsville.

Attendants were Miss Donna Mae Bush, sister of the bride, and Kenneth Opelt, a brother of the groom.

The bride chose for her wedding a grey striped wool suit with accessories of black. Her maid of honor wore a gold colored wool suit and gold hat. She had a corsage of yellow jonquils. The bride’s flowers were a corsage of red roses.

Supper was served to the immediate families at 4 o’clock, at the home of the groom’s parents. Rev. Dechant was also a guest at the supper. For the occasion the house was decorated with white and pink streamers, and the bride’s table was centered with a tiered wedding cake of white, trimmed with pink and topped with a miniature bride and groom. Mrs. Don Frei, cousin of the bride and Miss Wilma Palms were table waiters. In the evening a dance was held.

Mr. and Mrs. Opelt left Sunday for Wisconsin Rapids and are at home to their friends at 441 Clyde Avenue in that city. Mr. Opelt is employed in a paper mill.
