Alton, Alvin Lorenz (? - 16 March 1948)
Alvin Lorenz Alton, 67, of Valley Junction, son of the late Michael and Viola Parker Alton of Neillsville, passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital, Sparta, March 16 (1948). Death was due to pneumonia. Alvin was born in the Town of Lincoln, Monroe County, and spent most of his life in the vicinity of Tomah. He was married to Hermie Martin of New Lisbon, March 21, 1927. He leaves to mourn his death his wife and four sisters, Mrs. Alva (Ethel) Todd of Placerville, Cal.; Mrs. Elwin (Ida) Root of Tripoli; Mrs. Horace (Fern) Vandeberg of Neillsville; and Mrs. Ray (Buelah) Lewis of Onalaska, Wash., besides many other relatives and friends. His parents, two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Mr. and Mrs. Horace Vandeberg and Russell, Dan Timerson, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Timerson, Mrs. Jason Gault, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Gault, and Mr. Percy Northup of Neillsville, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Duda of Greenwood, and Mr. and Mrs. Silas Calkins and Mrs. Henry Stenulson of Black River Falls attended the funeral in Tomah Friday.
