Chester W. Stephens
Spencer, Wis. -- Chester W. Stephens, 96, a Spencer, Wisconsin resident, died Thursday, July 24, 2008, at Clark County Health Care Center, Owen.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2008, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer.
The visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.
Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Chester W. Stephens
Spencer, Wis. -- Chester W. Stephens, 96, a Spencer, Wisconsin resident, died Thursday, July 24, 2008, at Clark County Health Care Center, Owen.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2008, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. Burial will take place in West Spencer Cemetery.
The visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.
Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Chester was born June 15, 1912, in Dorchester to William and Ida (Johnson) Stephens. He and Mildred I. Elstrom were united in marriage April 17, 1935, in Owen. He had been a 50-year union construction worker and carpenter.
Chet is survived by his wife, Mildred, who resides at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen; three children, Robert (LaVonne) Stephens, Scottsburg, Ind., Sandra (Jerrold) Griepentrog, Spencer, and Darla (Kenneth) Strey, Spring Hill, Fla. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
