Hess, Theresa R. (25 Aug. 1919 - 2 Aug. 2008)

Abbotsford, Wis. -- Theresa R. Hess, 88, of Owen, formerly of the Abbotsford area, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, surrounded by family, at Clark County Health Care Center.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Abbotsford, Wis. Interment will be in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. Hemer Funeral Home of Medford is assisting the family with the arrangements.

She was born Aug. 25, 1919, in the town of Mayville, Dorchester, to Anselm P. Jr. and Alice E. (Bushman) Schmid. She married Robert J. Hess on June 1, 1942, at Camp Bowie, Texas, in the Company Catholic Chapel. He preceded Theresa in death Aug. 13, 2002. The couple owned and operated an egg ranch in the town of Colby, Wis.

Survivors include her children, Nancy (Albert) Erbach, Fond du Lac, Edward (Patricia) Hess, Butternut, Michael Hess, Mosinee, and Rita (Terry) Tischendorf, Medford; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and her brother, Anselm III (Rowena) Schmid, Dorchester, Wis.
