EDGAR -- Rudy W. Dins, 84, of Edgar died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, surrounded by family.

Visitation and funeral services will be Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008, at St. Stephen Evangelical Lutheran Church, Edgar. The Rev. LaDonna Ekern will officiate. Visitation begins at 1 p.m. until the time of service at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Edgar cemetery.

Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar, is in charge of arrangements.

Rudy was born Dec. 27, 1923, in Colby, son of Otto and Louise (Schumann) Dins. On Sept. 21, 1953, he married Adeline "Dina" Lee, who preceded him in death July 2, 2005.

Rudy worked in construction most of his adult life, retiring from Oscar J. Boldt Construction as a construction superintendent. He served his country in the U.S. Navy Armed Guard as a Seaman First Class during World War II. Rudy served on the Edgar Village Board and was instrumental in starting the Little League baseball program in Edgar.

Survivors include his six children, Rick (Sue) Dins, Ron (Michelle) Dins, Kathy (Kevin) Osness, Carol (Greg) Easter, Karen Dins and Kay Dins, all of Wausau; five grandchildren; two sisters, Bertha Schauer, Spencer, and Dorothy Dins, Colby, Wis.
