Phillips, Josephine (1858 - 22 NOV 1942)

Mrs. Louis (Josephine) Phillips was born in 1858 and was married to Louis Phillips. To this union were born five children, one of whom preceded her in death.

For about 30 years they made their home on a farm in the town of Seif. After her husband’s death, she moved to Madison, where she resided with her daughter, Mrs. Emma Martins, until death took her away at the good old age of 84 on Nov. 22.

Funeral services were held last Wednesday, Nov. 25, from the Congregational church at Neillsville, with the Rev. G. W. Longenecker conducting the funeral rites. Interment was made on the family lot in the town of Seif cemetery, beside her husband.

She leaves to mourn her loss two daughters, Mrs. Emma Martins and Miss Alice Phillips, both of Madison, and two sons, Levett and David.

She was a kind mother, loving wife and good neighbor. The family has the sympathy of neighbors and friends in this their hour of bereavement.
