Thorp (6 Aug. 1901)

The shrill tooting of the threshing engines is heard all about us.

Edith M. Cole of Eau Claire is visiting friends and relatives in this village.

Geo. Peterson of the Lusk-Peterson Land Co. is visiting his partner, Frank Lusk, in St. Paul.

Another carload of brick for the electric power house arrived yesterday and the bricklayers will begin work this week.

The Thorp Mercantile Co. are having their store building wired preparatory to putting in electric lights as soon as the plant shall have been completed.

Well, well, well, Hello, Bill, are you coming to the Woodmen reunion here on Aug. 30 and 31? The Second Regiment band of Marshfield will furnish the music and you are assured a good time.

Prof. A. F. Elmergreen, who has been engaged as a principal of the high school for the coming year, has moved his family and household goods here and is now looking for a suitable house to rent with not a vacant one to be found in the village.
