Dierauer, Cyrena (? - 23 August 2008)

Cyrena (Van Gorden) Dierauer, 80, of Bloomington, MN, passed away August 23, 2008.

Cyrena graduated from the University of Wisconsin in accounting and the University of Minnesota in child psychology. She served as the volunteer administrator of the daycare center at Faith United Church of Christ for 19 years. Cyrena was a founding member of the Turner Syndrome Society. She also started the nonprofit transportation service, T.R.A.I.L., to aid independent living, serving as a volunteer for 17 years. She was active in P.E.O., DAR and the Bachelor Buttons Garden Club.

Cyrena is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert Dierauer; sons, Gordon (Renae Knospe), John (Nancy Nelson) and Van (Lori Kaste); grandchildren, David Ursula, Peter and Mark; brothers, Heron "Pink" (Ruth) Van Gorden and Dick (Janet) Van Gorden; and other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie "Red" and Hazel Van Gorden, and daughter, Debra Dierauer.

A memorial celebration will be held Thursday, Aug. 28, 11 a.m. at Mayflower Congregational Church, 106 East Diamond Lake Road, Minneapolis. There will be visitation at the church one hour prior to service. Private interment will take place at Tell Church Cemetery, Alma.

It is preferred that memorials be given to T.R.A.I.L., Mayflower Church or N.C. Little Memorial Hospice.
