Neillsville High School (Class of 1925 - 1970)
Their fifth reunion since
graduation from Neillsville High School in 1925 will be held at Bali Hai Supper
club, east of Neillsville on Highway 10, Saturday, June 27.
Thirty or
more of the class which numbered 54 are expected to attend, according to
co-chairmen, Calvin Mills of Owen, and Francis Schweinler of Madison. Eight of
the graduates of that class are deceased. Members are scattered from
Massachusetts to California.
Among the guests expected will be Sen.
William C. Hansen of Stevens Point. Sen. Hansen, former president of Wisconsin
State University at Stevens Point, was superintendent of the Neillsville
schools at the time the class graduated.
The class had no reunion until
1950, when I held it’s first. Since that time, however, it has held a reunion
every five years. Among its well-known members still in the area, or in the area
until recently are: Fred E. Wall, John Mattson, Oscar W. (Dimps) Gluck, Jacob H.
Hoesly, Mrs. Clair Smale, Joe Haas and Harry (Boney) Frantz. Frantz recently
left Neillsville to take residence in Osceola. Also in the group was Harry Hauge
of Mosinee, former Neillsville florist; and Mrs. Allen C. (Marie) Covell, a
resident of Wiesbaden, Germany.
