Meinholdt, Idagene (Marriage - 13 June 1970)
Miss Idagene Meinholdt of
Madison, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Doc Meinholdt, Greenwood, exchanged wedding
vows Saturday, June 13, 1970, with Daniel Richard Simonson, also of Madison, son
of Mrs. Edward Kozlowski of fond du Lac, and the late Mr. Marvin Simonson. The
bride was given in marriage by her father during a double-ring ceremony at 1:30
p.m., performed by Rev. David S. Logue, pastor of Zion United Church of Christ
in Greenwood.
Delta Zeta sisters, Miss Kathy Madigan of Madison, and Miss
Joan Kenyon, Milwaukee, were organist and soloist, respectively.
As the
bride entered the church, she was seen in the white chiffon, floor-length,
empire-styled gown, fashioned with cavalier-shaped sleeves and a mandarin
neckline of venise lace. Pearls accented the dome styling. Her headpiece was an
exquisite profile bandeau of orange blossoms - which was worn by her
grandmother, Ida Meinholdt 75 years ago June 13 at her wedding - with full
length veil of silk illusion. She carried a spray bouquet of white daisies and
stephanotis.
Miss Trudy Hill of White Bear Lake, Minn., the
maid-of-honor, and Miss Joan Buettner of Madison, the bridesmaid, were attired
in the same styled gowns in pink accented with white venise lace. They wore pink
picture hats and carried colonial bouquets of white daisies, pink rose buds and
baby’s breath.
Completing the wedding entourage were the groom’s
brother, Steve Simonson of Hartford as bestman; Ronald Otto of West Lafayette,
Ind., as groomsman; and Richard Otto of Menomonee Falls, and Tom Berken of
Madison, as ushers.
A reception was held in the American Legion Hall in
Greenwood, and a dinner was served at Wildcat Inn, west of Neillsville.
The bridegroom’s mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kozlowski, gave a
rehearsal dinner Friday night in Marshfield.
The bride was a 1965
valedictorian of Greenwood High School, and a 1970 graduate of University of
Wisconsin Pharmacy School. She is a member of Delta Zeta and Kappa Epsilon,
professional sorority, and she has accepted a position as a pharmacy interne in
Milwaukee at Wood V. A. Hospital.
The groom is a 1964 graduate of
Menomonee Falls High School, and a 1969 graduate of Wisconsin State
University-Stevens Point. He served in VISTA for a few months and is a candidate
for a master’s degree in education at University of Wisconsin-Madison.
After a honeymoon in Quebec, Canada, the newlyweds will reside in Milwaukee.
