Vine, Fern Ruth (Marriage - 13 June
1970)
Given in marriage by her father, Fern Ruth Vine, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Irving Vine of Granton, became the bride of Donald Elton Rowe, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Milford Rowe of Granton, Saturday afternoon. The Rev. William
Dushek performed the double ring ceremony in the presence of 175 guests, at the
United Methodist Church in Neillsville.
The bride carried a bouquet of
white orchids and roses with stephanotis. She wore a crepe empire waist dress
with accents of Chantilly lace and a bouffant-style veil.
Mrs. Alice Dahl
was matron-of-honor and Mrs. Shirley Ahlborn was bridesmaid. They wore lavender,
green and yellow princess style gowns with daisies embossed nylon over solid
color, and carried baskets of daisies.
Alvin Dahl served as bestman and
Kenneth Vine as groomsman. Ushers were Dennis Ahlborn and Ronald Vine. Teresa
Vine and Jolene Vine were flower girls. Miss Susan Dudei sang, accompanied by
Miss Linda Diers.
A reception was held in the Fellowship Hall of United
Methodist Church which was decorated in lavender, green and yellow.
The
bride graduated from Granton High School and from a beauty school in Eau Claire.
She presently owns and managed the Moderne Beauty Shoppe in Neillsville. The
groom attended the same high school, took a short farm course in Madison and is
now farming.
After a wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin and Michigan, the
couple will make their home on Rt. 1 Granton.
