Herr, Harold Leroy (21 December 1920 - 28 August 2008)

Harold Leroy Herr, 87, Granton, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2008, at his home.

Harold was born December 21, 1920, in North Hampton, OH, to Orville B. and Mary E. (Tippy) Herr. He was raised on the family farm and received his education in Ohio. Harold spent most of his life farming and delivering milk. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and he loved to read.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude; daughters, Donna, Ailene and Rowena; sons, Harold, Stephen, Jerome and Harlan; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Wilma.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Celeste; three brothers; and one sister.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2008, at Grace Baptist Church, Marshfield, with Pastor Charles Hatchett officiating. Burial followed in the Owen Mennonite Church Cemetery.
