Co-Valedictorians to speak at Abbotsford
Diana Schultz and Joseph Skerbeck, co-valedictorians,
will speak to their fellow graduates at the 1965 commencement exercises at the
Abbotsford high school Thursday, May 27.
The two students hold identical “A” grade averages for their four years
at Abbotsford, creating the co-valedictorian arrangement.
Diana, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Schultz,
route 1, Curtiss, plans to take up pre-medical studies in college.
Her choice of schools has not yet been made, although she has been
offered several scholarships, including a university scholarship from Valparaiso
University; Valparaiso, Ind., and class “A” legislative scholarship from the
state of Wisconsin. She has been
very active in high school activities, including National Honor society, band,
chorus, student council, AFS student president, class officer, debate,
forensics, drama, annual staff, FHA, newspaper staff, GAA and Pep Club.
Joseph, The son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Skerbeck,
Dorchester, has accepted a class “A” legislative scholarship to the University
of Wisconsin, Madison, which is a warded on the basis of academic excellence.
Joe’s extra-curricular activities were curtailed due to
his involvement in the family business, which called for most of his spare time.
