Blomberg, Mabel L. (Stolhammer) (21 FEB 1926 - 5 AUG 2013)
Mabel L. Blomberg, 87, Ogema, died on Monday, Aug. 5 at Ministry St.
Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
Funeral services will be held on
Saturday, Aug. 10 at 10 a.m. at Ogema Baptist Church in Ogema, with Rev. Rodney
Price and Rev. Paul Van Camp officiating. Interment will be at Garden of Memory
in the Town of Hill. Pallbearers are Ryan Watt, Adam Francour, and Jon G.,
Jerod, Jon T., Joel and Jordan Blomberg.
Visitation will be held at the
church on Friday, Aug. 9 from 4 to 6 p.m., and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until
the time of service. Hemer Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the
family with arrangements.
The former Mabel Stolhammer was born on
February 21, 1926 in Chicago, IL, to the late John W. and Ruth F. (Carlson)
Stolhammer. She attended Chicago area schools.
On February 3, 1951 at
South Shore Baptist Church in Chicago, she married Wilbert A. Blomberg, who
preceded her in death on December 24, 1997. She was an accomplished piano player
~ and self-taught organ player, and taught music throughout .her life.
She was member of Ogema Baptist Church where she was the lead organ and piano
player for seven decades, the Ladies Aid Willing Workers and was a Sunday school
teacher, led neighborhood Bible studies, and was a past member of God's Invasion
Army. She enjoyed reading, baking, knitting, crocheting and gardening.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruthie (Blair) Watt of Marshfield and Peggy
(Joe) Francour of Merrill; five sons, Ron (Cyndi) of Cypress, CA, Jerry
(Jennifer), Dan (Chris) and
Steve (Krista), all of Ogema, and Tom (Donna) of
Iron River, MI; three brothers, Reuben (Doris) of Chicago, IL, Kenneth (Sig) of
Hibbing, MN, and Don (Donna) of Bemidji, MN; a brother-in-law, George Armstrong
of Belle Aire Bluffs, FL; 25 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister,
Evelyn Armstrong, and two grandchildren, Joy Korine Blomberg and Linnea Marie
Francour.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in
her name to Ogema Baptist Church for missions and music.
