Danielsen, Lorna M. (Kissling) (March 16, 1919 - September 5, 2008)

Lorna M. Danielsen, 89, Abbotsford died Friday, September 5, 2008 at Golden Living Center Continental Manor, Abbotsford, Wis.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to time of service at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Dorchester, Wis.

Services will be Tuesday, September 9 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Dorchester, Wis. Rev William Ruhbusch will preside. Burial will be Wednesday, September 10 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Rankin, WI.

Lorna was born March 16, 1919, in Shorewood to Rev. Theodore and Alida (Schuricht) Kissling.

She attended grade school at St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Oconomowoc, and graduated from Oconomowoc High School. In addition, she spent two years at a Milwaukee based business school.

On October 22, 1944, Lorna married the Rev. Ralph N. Danielsen at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc. Together, they served congregations in Texas, Michigan, Indiana and Wisconsin. Her husband died December 11, 2002, in Chippewa Falls.

She entered the Golden Living Center-Continental Manor in Abbotsford on December 31, 2002. Lorna was a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She also enjoyed reading and singing in the choir.

Lorna is survived by her children, Paul (Kathy) Danielsen, Brazil, IN; Ralph Jr. (Donna) Danielsen, Lindenhurst, IL; Joel (Becky) Danielsen, Antigo; Peter (Sue) Danielsen, Wisconsin Rapids; Carol (Rev. Jerome) Freimuth, Dorchester, and Tim (Mary) Danielsen, Appleton; 15 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Miriam (Kenneth) Robbins, Waterford.

The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home, Abbotsford is assisting the family with arrangements.
