Rayner, Charles F. (22 June 1922 - 7 Sept. 1956)
Charles F. Rayner of Abbotsford, a 34-year-old veteran of World War II, died Friday at the Veterans’ Hospital at Tomah where he had been since spring. Funeral services were held Monday morning at St. Bernard’s Catholic church in Abbotsford, Rev. Raymond Schulz officiating, and internment was made in the Abbotsford cemetery.
Mr. Rayner was born in Eau Claire on June 22, 1922, and received his education in Abbotsford and Marshfield schools and a business college in Chillcothe, Mo. He was depot agent for the Soo Line at Abbotsford before entering service for three and one-half years. He was a member of the Abbotsford Legion post and St. Bernard’s church.
Surviving are his wife, the former Linda Hoffman, whom he married in Abbotsford on November 16, 1948, a son, Charles Robert, eight years-old, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Rayner of Abbotsford, Wis.
