Tennis, Joanne Rose (Marriage - 4 September 1948)

Miss Joanne Rose Tennis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Tennis of Unity, repeated marriage vows Saturday at 4 p.m. with John Walter Pribnow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pribnow, of Loyal. The candlelight ceremony took place in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Colby, with the Rev. O. Hoffman officiating.

The bride wore a gown of champagne satin. Her veil fell from a headdress which was worn fifty six years ago by her grandmother, Mrs. Minnie Laack. She carried a colonial bouquet of red roses surrounded by white gladioli.

Matron of honor was Mrs. George Miller, who wore a gown of pale yellow in colonial style. Miss Julaine Mandle, in a matching gown of orchid, was bridesmaid. They both carried colonial bouquets.

George Miller served as best man, and Herbert Maier of Detroit, as usher. Janice Tennis, the bride’s sister, and Merry and Christine Miller, were flower girls.

After a wedding trip to Canada the couple will be at home in Loyal. The bride is a graduate of Unity High School and the groom of Loyal High School. The groom is a restaurant proprietor in Loyal.
