Skerbeck, Violet (29 APR 1939)
In St. Louis’ Catholic Church, Dorchester (Clark Co., Wis.), on Saturday morning, Miss Violet Skerbeck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Skerbeck of Dorchester and George Greaser, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Greaser of Abbotsford were united in marriage during a nuptial high mass. The Rev. Phillips Weller officiated.
The bride wore a white satin floor length gown designed on princess lines. The bodice was faintly brocaded with threads of gold. Her long silk tulle veil hung from a wreath of orange blossoms and natural myrtle. She wore a string of pears which her grandmother had worn at her wedding and carried a shower bouquet of roses and gypsophilia.
Mrs. Art Hansen of Chicago attended her sister as matron of honor. She wore a princess gown of aqua silk net and carried a bouquet of mixed flowers. In her hair she wore roses.
The groom was attended by Eugene Skerbeck, brother of the bride.
Following the church ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, to immediate relatives. About 40 guests were present.
Mr. and Mrs. Greaser left on a short trip through Wisconsin. On Tuesday evening they entertained their friends at a wedding dance at the Abbotsford Armory.
Mr. Greaser is a graduate of the Abbotsford High School and for the past seven years has been with the Skerbeck Amusement Co., acting as their foreman. Mr. and Mrs. Greaser will be with the company for the summer.
