Lueck, Delma (12 April 1921 - 27 September 1948)

Mrs. Walter (Delma) Lueck, 27, of Neillsville, died Monday, September 27, (1948) in the Wisconsin General Hospital in Madison, where she had been a patient since August 27. Mrs. Lueck had suffered from diabetes for some years and it was that, plus complications, that caused her death.

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 2, at 1:30 from the Georgas Funeral Home and at 2:00 o’clock at St. John’s Lutheran Church, with the Rev. William Baumann officiating. Burial took place in the Town of Grant Cemetery.

Mrs. Lueck was born Delma Messing, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Delray Messing, now both deceased, in the Clark County Town of Sherwood, April 12, 1921. She graduated from the Granton High School in 1940 and married Walter Lueck in 1942. She is survived by one daughter, Gloria Jean, who was five years old Sunday, October 3. Three children died in infancy. Mrs. Lueck was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Neillsville.

She is survived by her husband and a daughter, and by three sisters and a brother; Mrs. John (Erma) Popp, Manley, Iowa; Mrs. Art (Ruth) Stubbs, West Yellowstone, Montana; Elmer Messing, Marshfield; and Mrs. Robert (Roselyn) Harrison, Tacoma, Washington. Two sisters and one brother, as well as her parents, and three children in infancy predeceased her.

Pallbearers at the funeral were: William Meihack, Gordon Sharratt, Elmer Adams, Frank Knoop, Herbert Henning and Arthur Ackerman. Mrs. Emil Schmidt and Mrs. Arthur Ackerman were flower ladies.

Those who came from out-of-town to attend the funeral services were Mrs. Lueck’s sister, Mrs. John Popp of Manley, Iowa; her brother, Elmer Messing, Marshfield, Mrs. Ruby Brandenburgm, daughter Carol Ann and son, Carl of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Lueck of Rib Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Arndt, Mr. and Mrs. George McCarty, Mrs. Louis Pollesch and Mrs. Alfred Pollesch, all of Fox Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Erick Lueck and family and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Boon of Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Seelow of Eau Claire, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Seelow of Unity; the two Misses Sparks, and Mr. and Mrs. Fields.
