Schwarze, Herbert (Farewell - 1948)

Friends attended a farewell get-together held Friday evening in the parlors of the United Lutheran Church in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Schwarze and Mrs. Schwarze’s father, Arthur Iverson, who are leaving soon to reside in Madison.

The program was opened by the singing of hymns by the group and was followed by scripture reading and prayer by the Rev. Theodore Nelson. Elmer Johnson acted as toastmaster and led in reminiscences since the Iverson family came here in 1915. The Iverson’s have been active in church work ever since. Mrs. O. J. Amundson, in behalf of the Ladies Chorus, presented Mrs. Schwarze with a remembrance. Mrs. Schwarze, who was director and accompanist of the chorus the past 12 years, also received a life membership certificate from the Good Hope Ladies Aid Society. The family also received a book, a purse of money and other gifts from those present.
