The home of Earnest Keen burned last Saturday evening. It had caught from the chimney and Earnest supposed he had distinguished the fire and went to one of his neighbors to stay all night. Looking over to his place soon after he found it in flames. The fire company was soon there and succeeded in quenching the fire-most of the contents were saved. There was very little insurance.

Mrs. Rose McCarthy of Withee is visiting with the family of G. W. Smith.

Rev Owens preached in the Unitarian church Sunday.

J. A. Tuite went to Cadott Monday morning to accept a position as scaler for Bruley & Hempell.

Editor of the Gleaner was seen in the city Monday.
