Lehman, Katheryn Marie
(Marriage - 13 June 1970)
Miss Katheryn Marie Lehman, daughter of Col.
And Mrs. Raimon W. Lehman of Fairfax, VA., and formerly of Granton, became the
bride of L. Leroy Jonas, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Lilburn L. Jonas of Roanoke,
VA., June 13, at the Graham Road Methodist Church, Falls Church, Va. The Rev.
Walter M. Lockett, Jr., and Rev. Ned Crumpacker, an uncle of the groom,
preformed the ceremony.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore
a traditional floor-length gown of white silk organza over net, with a high
neckline, fitted bodice and long, sheer sleeves. The gown and train were adorned
with appliquéd lace. A shoulder-length veil of silk illusion flowed from her
Camelot lace bonnet. For her bouquet, she chose a cascade of old-fashioned
flowers.
Miss Jeannie Lehman of Fairfax was maid-of-honor and bridesmaids
were Miss Joan Lehman, sister of the bride, Miss Catherine McKee of Richmond,
Va., and Miss Linda Burnett of Lansing, Mich., a cousin of the bride. All wee
attired in identical floor length, lime green chiffon pants dresses, with sheer,
long sleeves. Large white straw picture hats with avocado ribbon trim completed
their costumes. Nosegays of white daisies were carried by the bridesmaids. The
maid-of-honor carried a nosegay of yellow daisies.
Serving as bestman was
the groom’s father, Lilburn J. Jonas. The ushers were Raimon Lehman, Jr.,
William B. Holtzman, Michael McDonald, Bruce Hart and Jame Lee Hearn.
The
altar was decorated with yellow and white daisies, ‘mums and snapdragons. David
Lehman performed the function of acolyte and Lawrence Lehman served as
ringbearer. Both are brothers of the bride, James Mitchell played tradition
organ music selected by the bride.
A reception was held at the Army-Navy
Country club at Arlington.
The bride is a graduate of Fairfax High School
and Madison College, Harrisonburg, Va., with a major in mathematics.
The
groom is a graduate of Lord Botetourt High school of Roanoke and Bridgewater
College, Bridgewater, Va., holding a degree in biology. He is employed with the
state of Maryland in the department of water resources, at Annapolis, Md.
The bride’s parents are formerly of Granton. Col Lehman is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. William Lehman and his wife, Ruth (Spry) Lehman, is the daughter of
Mrs. Lloyd Spry.
Local guests attending included: Mrs. Lloyd L. Spry and
Mr. and Mrs. William Lehman of Granton; Mrs. Norman Jaenicke of Kankakee, Ill.;
Mrs. Austin Anderson of Kenosha; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hackbarth of Wautoma; Mr.
and Mrs. A. C. Hill and family of Poughkeepsie, NY.; Dr. Elroy Lehman of Dallas,
