Mort Tompkins started for California last week. He is out for his health.

Editor Crothers visited Black River Falls, Monday.

Mr. John Stannard is also a victim of the disease that is going around.

Mr. H. H. Heath, who has been suffering with appendicitis, was operated on last Thursday, and is now improving.

Harold Grow was another victim to appendicitis, and was operated on last Thursday.

Dr. H. A. Pitcher, is now suffering from poison, caused by eating sardines. He was attacked Saturday night with great internal pains, and is not out of danger yet, but is improving slightly

Mr. Gottlieb Muck died at his home in this city last Saturday evening. The cause of his death was heart disease, and the remains were taken to Jefferson, Wis.

W. H. Dopp of Seattle, Wash., is in the city this week. Mr. Dopp was formerly connected with the Republican and Press of this city.

Minnie Ketel is going to California next Monday.

E. D. Webster sold his livery business last week to a party from away.

Rev. Hill, formerly pastor of the Presbyterian church of this city, lectured here Tuesday evening on "The Wit and Humor of Two Nations.". The lecture was good and well attended.

The family of Ed. Rowe is now recovering from a severe attack of scarlet fever.
