Mrs. L. Horel and Mrs. E.F. Washburn
left for Tomah Wednesday noon where they will take treatments from a specialist.
The series of unearthly screeches and yells emanating from the rear of
the postoffice building is not a protest against “the powers that be” as
exhibited in Humbird at the present time, but just our genial postmaster
learning to play the cornet, he having joined the newly organized orchestra.
The following young men of this village have organized an orchestra and
expect to engage an instructor soon to drill them in all the latest music of the
day: W.F. Hein, tuba; W.E, Waters, cornet; E.L. Nygaard, cornet; Chas. Francis,
2nd violin; W.E. Craig, 1st violin; Chas Creviston, 1st violin; Roy Creviston,
clarinet; Jas. Creviston, trombone. The orchestra expects to put in some hard
work in rehearsals during the next months.
