H. W. GILLETTE TO LEAVE CURTISS
Mr. H. W. Gillette, who has operated a barber shop during his four years stay in our Village will be on next Monday, leave for Port Edwards, where he has purchased a fine 2 chair shop.
Mr. and Mrs. Gillette in speaking of their stay in Curtiss, spoke very kindly regarding their many friends they have made while in Curtiss, but knowing that the opportunities would be much greater in a town of 1000 people, where there is only one barber shop feels that such an opportunity does not come only one in a life time.
The people of Curtiss will miss Mr. and Mrs. Gillette for they have been real booster for the town and have done their share to make Curtiss a real village in which to live.
The Editor of this paper wishes to add his personal word regarding Mr. Gillette. When the proposition of opening a newspaper came up in Curtiss one of the first to offer his help was Mr. Gillette. For nine months, Mr. Gillette has never missed a week sending in anywhere from one to three columns of local material.
This work has been done out the generosity of his heart and for the upbuilding of the Village this paper represents. We cannot in these columns begin to say how much Mr. Gillette has meant to the success of this paper, only time can tell.
However, we wish to take this opportunity of expressing our sincere thanks to Mr. Gillette and whish him the best of prosperity that man can enjoy.
Mrs. Gillette will remain in Curtiss until such time as Mr. Gillette is settled in his new surroundings.
