Hodorowski, Harry Paul (25 September 1921 - 12 September 2008)
Harry P. Hodorowski, age 86, of Thorp, passed away at Miller Alternative Care in Thorp on Friday, September 12, 2008.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 15, 2008 at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp. Fr. Keith Apfelbeck officiated and burial followed in New St. Hedwig’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was held at Thorp Funeral Home on Sunday, September 14, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary service and at the church on Monday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
Pallbearers were: Patrick Wampole, Corey Wampole, Bob Brent, Tony Brent, Zachary Wampole and Joe Stoddard.
Harry Paul Hodorowski was born on September 25, 1921 in Thorp, WI to Albert J. and Mary Ann (Musial) Hodorowski. He was raised on the family farm east of Thorp and received his education in the Thorp area. Harry was united in marriage to Josephine Wink on May 11, 1946 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thorp. They took over the operation of his family’s farm and farmed until their retirement in 1985. While on the farm, Harry also enjoyed raising honey bees. After their retirement, they remained on the farm until 1993, and then moved to Thorp where they bought a home. They resided at home until moving to Morgan Plaza in 2003.
Harry was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church and had many interests, but especially enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, and collecting Dennis the Menace comics out of the newspaper.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Josephine, of Thorp, three children: Kathleen (Rollie) Williams of New Berlin, Bonnie Hodorowski of East Troy, and Harry J. Hodorowski of Mukwonago; six grandchildren: Judy (Bob) Brent, Marty Wissmueller, Patrick Wampole, Stacey Equitezs, Corey Wampole, and Hope (Joe) Stoddard; four great-grandchildren: Amanda Brent, Tony Brent, Zachary Wampole, and Samantha Equitezs; one sister, Pauline Zielanis of Thorp; and one brother, Frank "Red" (Amelia) Hodorowski of Thorp.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Joseph and John Hodorowski; and four sisters: Clara Czernicki, Anna Tomkowiak, Helen Leski, and Rose Zielinski.
