Klovas, Rosalie Marie (11 March 1922 - 12 September 2008)

Rosalie M. Klovas, age 86, of Thorp, died peacefully at her home on Friday, September 12, 2008.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. Fr. Joseph Follmar officiated and burial followed in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bill Klovas, Jr., Kyle Carlson, Ryan Klovas, Brady Bielecki, Bill Kowieski and Gary Petersen.

Visitation was held at Thorp Funeral Home on Monday, September 15, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a 6:45 Thorp American Legion Auxiliary service and a 7:00 p.m. Rosary service, and at the church, on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Rosalie Marie Niedzwiecki was born on March 11, 1922 in Thorp, the daughter of Jacob and Petronella (Jarocki) Niedzwiecki. She was raised in Thorp and received her education at St. Bernard’s Catholic School.

Rosalie was united in marriage to George M. Klovas on October 25, 1947 at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp. They began their married life living in Kenosha before moving back to Thorp in 1951, where they farmed until retirement.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard and its PCCW, the Thorp American Legion Auxiliary, and the Rock Dam Rod & Gun Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, gardening, sewing, and baking. She also enjoyed playing cards and spending time at the casino.

Rosalie will be sadly missed by her loving husband George of 60 years; three sons: James of Elma, WA, Jerry of Puyallup, WA, and Ronald (Lynn) of Thorp; two daughters: Jeanne Frenette and MaryBeth (Gary) Petersen, both of Thorp; twelve grandchildren: Holly, Sarah, Jeriod, Rebecca, January, Kari, Jaclene, Aaron, Ryan, Jessica, Amy and Kyle; four great-grandchildren: Mya, Tyler, Ava, and Brooklyn; one brother, Frank Niedzwiecki; two sisters: Marie Chudy and Leona Hadzima; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Felix, Phillip, Michael, and Jacob Niedzwiecki; and three sisters: Sarah Niedzwiecki, Julia Kowieski and Theresa Jacobazzi.
