Mr. and Mrs. Marce Foster attended the Foster Family
reunion held over the weekend at Trails End Lodge, Milwaukee.
Those in attendance were the mother, Mrs. Theresa Foster, Marshfield, the
children and their respective families: Mr. and Mrs. Harold Zimmer and family,
Green Bay, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Foster and family of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs.
Kenneth Foster and family, Wauwatosa, Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Foster and family,
Butler, Mr. and Mrs. John Foster and family, Hales Corners, Dr. and Mrs. Gerald
Foster and family, Terre Haute, Ind., Mr. and Mrs. Toma Sinco and family,
Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bailey and family, Burlington, Mr. and Mrs. James
Foster and family of Black River Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Walsh and family and
Mr. and Mrs. Amos Foster and family, all of Ishpeming, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Gene
Foster and family, Ironwood, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Foster and family,
Schofield, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Foster and family, Winona, Minn., Mr. and Mrs.
Woodrow Foster and family, Bellewood, Ill., and Mr. and Mrs. Marce Foster and
family. The Foster clan gathered at
the lodge by Saturday noon. Several
members of the family had not seen each other for over 28 years.
Mr. and Mrs. Marce Foster stopped at Kenosha on their return home to
visit their son, Dennis, who is employed there.
Mrs. Edna Waldhart and son, Buzzy, spent the weekend at
Appleton with the Gilbert Waldhart and Bill Waldhart families.
On their return home they stopped at Spencer to visit Mrs. Lige Niemann.
Rev. Ambrose Blenker, Grand Knight and Mrs. Mike Stieber,
and Deputy Grand Knight and Mrs. Angus Lamot, attended the 64th
annual state Knights of Columbus convention held at Rhinelander from Sunday, May
16, through Tuesday, May 18. The
group returned home Tuesday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilber Schmitt entertained a group of guest
to honor their daughter, Gail Jean, on her confirmation into Zion Lutheran
church Sunday. The dinner and supper
guests included Gail’s sponsors, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Arndt, Kenyon, Minn., who
had arrived with their son, Thomas, Saturday, and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Nagel and
family, Highland, Ind., Miss Ella Mehring, Sheboygan, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Seefeldt
and Nadine, Prentice, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Seefeldt, Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. David
Schmitt and Dana, Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. Art Nagel, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd
VanDreel and Douglas, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schmitt and Elroy, all of Colby.
Mrs. Elmer Leichtnam was dismissed from St. Joseph’s
hospital, Marshfield, Wednesday, where she had been following surgery.
Mrs. Jerry Jerabeck, Oakfield, mother of Mrs. Elmer
Leichtnam, and Mrs. Leichtnam’s sister, Mrs. Clarence Hanus, Milwaukee, spent
two days at the Elmer Leichtnam home this week.
Mrs. Bingham is their daughter.
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Krueger entertained Sunday at dinner
and supper in honor of their son, Charles, who was confirmed that morning at St.
Paul’s Lutheran church by the Rev. H. Woodworth.
Those present were his grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Gosse, his god
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Raymond of Wausau and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Laabs.
