------ Willner, Sharon Lynne (29 MAY 1965)
A two o’clock ceremony at Zion Lutheran church in Colby
Saturday, May 29, united Miss Sharon Lynne Willner and Ray Allen Rachu in the
bonds of holy matrimony. The Rev.
Harold Woodworth witnessed the rite.
Kenneth Schulz was the soloist and Mrs. Priem was the organist.
For her wedding, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lester
Willner of Colby wore an elegant chapel train gown made of Chantilly lace and
organza over bouquet taffeta. The
gown was styled with a lace bodice with a sabrina neckline, long tapered sleeves
with a minute touch of cording at the waist and very bouffant skirt.
Matching lace was appliqued on the skirt and sequins and pearls trimmed
the appliques and the neckline. Her
very bouffant veil of imported pure silk English illusion was caught to a crown
of pearls. Her bouquet was an
arrangement of Zorina roses, white gladioli and ivy on a white Bible.
Attending the bride were three friends, Miss Christine
Miller of Unity as maid of honor, and Mrs. Dennis Bruesewitz of Unity and Mrs.
Donald Rachu of Marshfield as bridesmaids.
They were attired alike in Capucine floor-length dresses
of peau taffeta designed with fitted bodices, scoop neckline and three-quarter
length sleeves. Watteau panels
created back interest on the modified bell skirts with a flat front.
They wore matching hair braid crowns with circular veils and carried
colonial bouquets of orange gladioli and yellow pompons.
For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Willner chose a blue
lace dress with white accessories.
Mrs. Rachu wore blue accessories with her beige ensemble and both mothers had
corsages of pink roses.
The groom who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Rachu of
Unity was attended as best man by a friend, Leo Apfelbeck, of Colby.
Donald Rachu, a brother, and Dennis Bruesewitz, a friend, were groomsmen.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Rachu greeted friends at a reception
at the city hall and were joined at supper served at the church parlors.
In the evening a wedding dance was held at Trianon Ballroom.
After they return from a honeymoon trip they will make
their home at Colby. The groom is
employed at Spencer Sports Products and his bride was employed at Employers
Mutuals, Wausau.
