Bunnell, Richard (1888 - 14 SEP 1939)
Eugene Bunnell, a former resident of Abbotsford and brother of M. C. Bunnell, died at the veteran’s hospital, Fort Snelling, Thursday afternoon.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday afternoon with the Veterans of Foreign Wars in charge. Interment was made in the new veterans’ cemetery at Fort Snelling.
Mr. Bunnell was born in 1888, just south of Colby, and grew to manhood in this vicinity. He operated a roller skating rink in Abbotsford in the hall formerly located north of the O. & N. lumber yards.
Mr. Bunnell served in the World War and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his widow and six children, two sisters, Mrs. Grace Boilean of Los Angeles and Mrs. Belva Risdon of Long beach, Calif.; two brothers, Roscoe Bunnell of Oakland, Calif., and Monroe Bunnell of Abbotsford; and Charles Hoffman, a half-brother, at Park Falls.
